Effective July 1, 2026

Dear Valued Customer,

Starting July 1, 2026, the EU will introduce a temporary customs duty on e-commerce shipments imported from outside the EU with a value of €150 or less.

Key Changes

  1. €3 will be charged for each different product category in a shipment.

  2. Products are categorized based on their customs tariff classification.

  3. Multiple units in the same category are generally charged only once.

Example:

  1. Five identical T-shirts: €3

  2. One T-shirt and one watch: €6

The €3 duty is separate from import VAT, customs clearance fees, carrier fees, and any future EU handling fee.

Recommended Actions

To reduce clearance delays and avoid incorrect duty assessments, customers should:

  1. Confirm the correct HS or TARIC classification for each product.

  2. Provide accurate product descriptions, materials, intended use, quantity, value, and country of origin.

  3. Ensure that commercial invoices and electronic customs data are complete and consistent.

  4. Review product pricing and landed-cost calculations before the new rules take effect.

  5. Confirm whether customs duties will be billed to the sender or recipient under the selected shipping terms.

K&S Logistics is closely monitoring the implementation of these requirements and coordinating with relevant carriers and service partners. Additional operational and billing information will be communicated as it becomes available.
